In this class, you will view samples of different styles of needle work, with a focus on cross stitch and modern freestyle techniques, along with places to look for inspiration, and different ways to put your own take on the classic and time honored craft. Benefit for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.The venue is a private 22000 square foot Woodside CA estate styled after a royal family retreat. The evening will get started with a sunset exotic car show, followed by hors-d’oeuvres, wine tasting, a Fashion Show featuring celebrity designers from LA, NYC and San Francisco and finally a masquerade ball featuring the latest sounds from a live DJ and Hollywood singer. This event will be hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year candidate Rumiko McCarthy. All of the costs for the event have been covered by sponsor donations. All proceeds from ticket sales and bar will go directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Japanese Cosplay and street fashion is always unique, fun and refereshing to see! Since 1999, Japan Video’s Anime Costume Parade has been a part of the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival — an annual event held in San Francisco to celebrate the Japanese culture and the arrival of Spring. The parade begins at the Civic Center at 1:00 p.m., proceeding up Polk to Post Street, and ending in Japantown at Post and Fillmore streets. A number of performers from Japan will also grace us with their presence. Japanese classical (Buyo) and folk dance (Minyo) groups representing the Bay Area will perform throughout the parade route like a myriad of floating butterflies.
