This weekend, DNA (designers+artists), a bi-coastal collective that promotes emerging and established talents in fashion, accessories and art, is launching the first in their series of weekend only pop-up shops. This shop, called STOREFRONT, will house local and emerging fashion designers, jewelers, accessories and art. STOREFRONT will premier on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Hayes Valley. The local designers whose works will be showcased include Metalista (jewelrly), Black Satin Shoes (accessories), Kana Ross (apparel/accessories), Left Bank Accessories (jewelry), Nices Pieces Jewelry, and Paola Loves To Shop accessories.
The opening will also launch an online shopping site, Fashionistette, which is based out of Sausalito. They will be selling a collection of their designer sample sale items from Rory Beca, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Rock & Republic, along with other designer brands.
DNA’s featured artist for the event is Michelle M Mitchell, a young fashion photographer who will be exhibiting her recent works at the store throughout the weekends in May.
As the weekend debut will be attracting a crowd of Mother’s Day shoppers, designers and vendors will be offering special deals at the event. Tiny Treats Cupcakes will be in-house to sell and place orders (on Saturday May 1st only). Keep your weekend radar on the STOREFRONT where during the month of May, they will be having exclusive vintage parties, “streetwear meets the skater”, bbq’s, bargains and bargains!
STOREFRONT is located at 644 Laguna, between Hayes Street and Grove Street in San Francisco. Their weekend hours of operation are Saturday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
