When: Friday, April 9, 2010
Where: Slide Nightclub, 430 Mason Street, San Francisco
What: San Francisco Designer Danielle Pettee launched her new Spring 2010 Collection at upscale nightclub Slide. The “Swirl Into Spring Flowers” Fashion Show turnout was greater than expected, with many people being newly introduced to her fabulous designs. Models from Desired Temptations and special guest models worked the runway, displaying the Spring collection with beautiful elegance. Their hair was tousled and done up by Posh Salon hair stylists Jamie Leonard and Stacy Wiess. Their makeup was beautifully done by makeup artists Kim Merrill and Rosana Vares. The show was executed as Danielle had envisioned: “a romantic, sexy and unique walk down the runway.” It was flawless.
Her whimsical, flirty dresses were a hit with the attendees. What makes her styles unique are her signature detailing. Many of the dresses have stunning detailing, such as organza ruffles with little beads sewn onto them, scattered petal applique, or lightly splatter hand-dyed body-fabrics and ruffles. The construction detailing is unique as well, such as the the heart shaped sleeves on the red “Queen of Hearts” dress or the avant garde neckline on the “Blue and Burgundy” dress. She brought out the vibrancy of Spring in her collection.
Behind the scenes, Danielle claimed she was sweating up a storm throughout the entire night. *Exaggeration*. During the show, she “felt ecstatic, fidgety and nervous that the music wasn’t long enough.” However, it felt like the most joyous day of her life. After the show, how did she feel? “I felt humble, and I felt relieved that I finally got to portray what I had been dreaming about for so long.”
If you missed Danielle’s show, you’ll have two chances to see one next month. Danielle will be showing her collection at the Charity Fashion Show in Palo Alto, on May 15th. Tickets go on sale this month. She will also be presenting her designs at the Urban Couture Fashion Art Expo in Oakland, on May 22nd. You won’t want to miss these events!
