Event Recap: “Step Up Your Style”

Event promoter Donovan Friedman asked people to step up their style for his latest fashion industry event on April 17, 2010 and the attendees didn’t fail to please.  Arriving at the swank supperclub Yoshi’s in fashionable attire, people walked the red carpet and participated in a photo shoot by professional fashion photographers Meguel Varda, Eduardo Ribiero and Damien Miller.  Once inside, people were welcomed by an environment that made it easy to meet and network with other fashion industry professionals and those interested in fashionable events.

Donovan’s mission is to cultivate the fashion culture and scene of SF through fashion themed events and fashion shows.  His past events include fashion shows for Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and Marciano.  This event was his 5th Annual “Step Up Your Style: A Tribute to Yves Saint Laurent.”  For the past 5 years, Donovan has hosted this event to encourage people, whether fashion-savvy or not, to experiment and artistically express themselves through fashion.
People were encouraged to dress in creative fashion forward attire, with the most fashion forward woman receiving a $1,000 shopping spree in Union Square.  What was more important throughout the evening was having a fierce, radiant and beautiful personality.

If you missed this event, you have the opportunity this weekend to attend another one of his fashion events at the 5A5 Steak Lounge (244 Jackson Street) on Saturday, April 24th from 9:00pm to 2:00am.  Donovan is hosting “I Wear My Sunglasses At Night” in tribute to Dave Soto of VanitySF.  Don you cocktail attire and your favorite designer sunglasses for a fun evening of elegance and glamour.  Additional details can be found at www.donovansf.com.

Watch out for more of Donovan’s fashion events, as he continues to inspire Bay Area people to “Step It Up” and make San Francisco a sexier more fashionable place to live.  For more information on Donovan Friedman and his events, please visit his website at www.donovansf.com.
